Study of some CD markers, oxidative stress status and levels of some interleukins in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma

Abstract: 
In young people, Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) is the most prevalent type of malignancy. This three-year countrywide research in Kirkuk examines the differences in HL incidence by sex and age. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the levels of cytokines, certain CD markers, and oxidant/antioxidant status in patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma. The samples of this study was obtained from Kirkuk Specialized Oncology Center between January 2022 to May 2024. For the study, 110 patients aged 15–65 years donated blood serum samples. These samples were divided into two groups, which are as follows: Group A: 110 blood samples from healthy subjects.  Group B: including 110 patients with Hodgkin lymphoma. The high percentage of patients was found in male group that reach to 67.3%. percentage of female group was reach to 32.7%. The high percentage of patients was found in 15-25years group that reach to 35.5%. while, the low percentage of patients was found in 36-45year group that reach to 8.2%, The average age of patients was 39.04±6.15 years. Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels (7.38± 1.05) substantially greater (P<0.05) in patients than in healthy controls (2.94± 0.47). Glutathione (GSH) levels (21.71± 1.38) showed significantly lower (P<0.05) in patients compared with healthy subjects (8.53± 1.64). Catalase (5.33 ± 1.48) showed significantly lower (P<0.05) in patients compared with healthy subjects (15.94 ± 1.29). The levels of interleukins (IL)-12 in patients (181.05± 15.76) were substantially greater (P<0.05) than in healthy persons (94.12± 7.39). IL-17 levels (42.37± 3.27) showed significantly lower (P<0.05) in patients compared with healthy subjects (18.53± 1.62). Also, the results showed that the CD15 was positive in nearly all cases of HL (95.5%). on the other hand, CD30 was positive in nearly all cases of HL (97.3%). In addition to CD30 antigen, immunophenotypic screening for CD15 should be performed on all Hodgkin lymphoma cases.
